We’re bringing a new attorney onto our team.
Victoria Cvitanovic, one of the nation’s foremost psychedelic law experts, will serve as Counsel at Rudick Law Group, our woman-owned, New York City-based firm. She will oversee our new offices in New Orleans, Louisiana, and Santa Fe, New Mexico. Ms. Cvitanovic joins our all-women staff as our in-house psychedelic attorney, expanding our services beyond the cannabis market.
The cannabis and psychedelic industries are entering a critical phase of growth, particularly on patient rights, and having someone with Victoria’s depth of knowledge and passion for the field is invaluable. Victoria is a powerhouse and brings a fierce, protective energy to every client with whom she works. Her expertise will not only empower and support our clients, but also help shape the future of this dynamic industry.
About Victoria Cvitanovic
Ms. Cvitanovic’s legal experience includes psychedelic and cannabis medicine law, healthcare and medical malpractice law, regulatory compliance, and litigation. Her experience in public and private sector law makes her perfectly suited to support Rudick Law Group’s diverse, growing client base. In her fast-growing niche practice, she represents producers, retailers, manufacturers, physicians, and hospital and health care networks within the psychedelic medicine and cannabis supply chains.
Throughout Ms. Cvitanovic’s legal career, she has held roles in private practice and public service. As with the other women on RLG’s legal services and strategic advisory teams, Ms. Cvitanovic is also a renowned educator and public speaker. Following a life-altering injury that left her with chronic pain, she discovered firsthand that psychedelic medicine and cannabis therapies can empower patients to manage complex, ongoing medical issues and reclaim their lives.
Ms. Cvitanovic joins RLG from a large law firm. There, she assisted large corporate clients with overall litigation portfolios and managed matters related to transportation, healthcare, and supply chain logistics.
Ms. Cvitanovic also previously worked as a prosecutor for the State of Louisiana, a role in which she prosecuted felony narcotics, violent crime, and juvenile justice cases in New Orleans. She witnessed firsthand that, with conditions such as PTSD and chronic pain contributing to criminality, patient access to psychedelic medicine and cannabis therapies could reduce the prevalence of the very crimes she was prosecuting.
She is someone who has witnessed the devastating consequences of patient reliance on the illicit market during her time as a prosecutor, who has helped healthcare providers and businesses to comply with an ever-changing regulatory climate as a lawyer, and who has personally benefited from advances in psychedelic medicine as a patient. This background motivated Ms. Cvitanovic to join a law practice that’s deeply committed to shaping the future of this industry and patient rights.
Rudick Law Group’s expansion into psychedelics
Ms. Cvitanovic’s expertise propels RLG to the vanguard of psychedelic law and health care advancements as RLG and the psychedelic market alike grow rapidly. As New Mexico and other states move closer to legalizing psilocybin therapy, Ms. Cvitanovic will continue her ongoing work of supporting clients in tracking legislative developments and developing regulatory compliance programs to ensure the highest-quality patient care.
Through Ms. Cvitanovic’s work with Ketamine Assisted Therapy (KAT/KAP) providers, she empowers health care practices and practitioners to embrace psychedelic medicine. She also specializes in structuring appropriate employee and patient agreements, staying abreast of evolving psychedelics law and standards of care, and ensuring appropriate insurance coverages such as medical malpractice and cyber incident policies.
Ms. Cvitanovic’s legal expertise and lived experience position RLG as a thought leader within the psychedelics market. RLG is now exceptionally well-suited to advise and educate on psychedelic medicine’s applications to treat and empower people who seek to resume productivity after debilitating or life-threatening injuries.
Rudick Law Group’s branding investments
Cvitanovic joins Rudick Law Group during a time of significant growth for our cannabis-focused law firm. We have exceeded the average second-year growth rates for a law firm, and during our first year of operations, we surpassed $1 million in revenue. Less than 2% of women-led businesses achieve this revenue milestone.
We have used the revenue from our prosperous first two years to invest in new hires, branding, a new website, and a modified workplace infrastructure. Our team is undergoing additional training and credentialing to become certified Ganjiers by the end of 2025 so that we can even more meaningfully assess cannabis quality and advise on retail operations.
Since RLG launched in 2023, we have helped to grow the cannabis industry well beyond the U.S. We have worked with CReDo Science to make cannabis medicine more accessible throughout Asia and Southeast Asia. In South America, RLG attorney Jessica F. Gonzalez has spent significant time in Ecuador advocating for cannabis legalization.
Domestically, we have worked to develop and license formulations for the proper treatment of medical ailments such as menopause and ALS, for which preparations are in place for a pre-IND meeting with the FDA. We have also represented more than 50 clients and supported more than 150 New York and New Jersey cannabis licensing applications. We have expanded into medical formulation deals, early-stage market mergers and acquisitions, and other new areas. And with Ms. Cvitanovic’s hiring, we are excited to officially expand into psychedelic law.
